President’s wife Miriam Vella said that one is filled with hope when witnessing the courage of patients who are receiving medical care for cancer, during a visit to the apartments owned by Puttinu Cares in London. President George Vella and his wife are currently in London visiting Maltese patients receiving care.
Vella praised Puttinu Cares for its dedication and work. Since 2004 the charity has been offering accommodation at Martin court, and recently it acquired apartments in Cheam Road, Sutton. Currently some 19 families have a relative who is receiving care in London, and are staying in Sutton. The families are also receiving assistance from the Malta Community Chest Fund.
President Vella observed that Maltese patients diagnosed with eye problems such as glaucoma, cancer, or vision loss are receiving high quality care, during a visit to Moorfields Eye Hospital.
The bilateral agreement between Malta and the United Kingdom was discussed by President Vella during their visit to King’s College Hospital.
