Little Elisa Buhagiar loved to pray and she used to urge her family to recite the rosary and pray before meals. Frequently she also used to say that she “belongs to God”. (“Ta’ Ġesu”).
Elisa will be given her last farewell today after she lost her young life in a tragic road accident in Manikata on Thursday, at the Żebbuġ Parish Church. Mass will begin at 3.30pm.
The accident occurred in Triq il-Prajjet. She was riding in the car driven by her 49-year-old father and accompanied by her friend when they crashed with another car driven by a 35-year-old from Mellieħa.
Elisa was born on Thursday the 30th of April 2009 to Joseph and Rachelle Buhagiar, who also have an older daughter Sarah.
She attended the fifth class at St Joseph’s School in Blata l-Bajda and was described as a joyful, energetic and sporty girl. Many also describe her as a girl full of good energy and love who loved to hug people.
Elisa loved animals, and she used to spend a lot of time at the seashore snorkelling for sea shells.
