The Bishop of Gozo Mario Grech has described Mary as being the GPS that helps cyclists and motorcyclists find their way.
The Bishop said this during a mass celebrated on Church Square at the National Sanctuary of Ta’ Pinu Church, for hundreds of motorcyclists from the organization “Bikers for Charity”, raising money for the Puttinu Cares Foundation.
In his homily he likened the story of a son’s wasteful life with cyclists and motorcyclists who in the words of Bishop seeking new avenues and beautiful destinations. He said that sometimes the path leads in the right direction but ends up at the wrong destination.
He said that in the event of man being lost, they can still find they way. He explained that although one can get lost, there are opportunities to make a U-turn.
In his homily, the bishop said that predecessors need to pass down important lessons so as to avoid there being serious risks of accidents.
The Mass was dedicated to the memory of motorcyclists who lost their lives tragically.
On Facebook John Bundy who is also one of the event said that over €1,600 has been raised by the charity to support the children’s cancer charity Puttinu Cares.
