Well informed sources told Newsbook.com.mt that Yorgen Fenech reacted strongly to the news that Melvin Theuma, the so-called middleman in the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia was pardoned by Government. He started spilling beans at a faster rate than he has been doing so far. It is reliably understood that he mentioned more than one very highly placed person in politics. After Cardona, it seems that Keith Schembri, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister was next on Fenech’s hit list.
The name of Minister Chris Cardona had already been mentioned by Fenech. On Saturday the Police sent for Minister Cardona who tried to downplay the importance of his visit to the Police Headquarters. Newsbook.com.mt is informed that the questioning by the police had a bigger significance and importance that Cardona tried to depict. More development to be reported later.
Andrew Caruana Galizia who in a Tweet described Yorgen Fenech as the ‘third layer’ in the assassination plot said that the country is bracing itself for news of a link between Keith Schembri and the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia. The comment by Andrew Caruana Galizia confirms the news passed on to us by our source.
Fenech’s pardon still pending: Prime Minister Muscat yesterday said in Parliament that the request by Yorgen Fenech for a pardon is still pending. This was a clear statement that the investigators are still actively interested in what Fenech had told them so far. Newsbook is informed that they became more interested as Fenech gave more information after the announcement that Theuma had been pardoned.
