Xewkija shooting: Man pleads not guilty

A man has pled not guilty to grievously injuring another man during an argument yesterday in Xewkija Gozo.

The accused, a 35-year-old Xewkija resident, said he was not guilty to the charges of putting people’s lives in danger and of causing grievous injuries to the 87-year-old victim.

The younger man allegedly hit the older man with a weapon during their argument.

The case presided over by Magistrate Dr P Coppini LL.D, granted the accused bail on several conditions.

The court also granted the victim a protection order.

The prosecution was led by Inspector B.C. Spiteri.
