A 40-year-old woman was slightly injured after a metal roof collapsed on her in Sliema.
The accident happened at around 11.45am on Saturday morning on Old College Street, when residents called the police after hearing a “loud bang”. Initially the police had thought it was scaffolding which had collapsed. Later it was confirmed that a roof made out of metal sheets had collapsed.
A spokesperson for the Police told this newsroom that a construction employee was working on a tower crane when it something causing the metal sheet roof to collapse. Beneath the roof was the resident.
The police said that the woman was slightly injured and was treated on site by the medical team present. She was not taken to hospital.
