Woman seriously injured in Għajnsielem traffic accident

A woman was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Għajnsielem early Friday morning.

The police said that the accident happened on Triq l-Imġarr at 1am.

The victim, who is a foreign national, has not been identified yet, was a passenger in a vehicle that was being driven by a 43-year-old Norwegian man residing in Ta’ Kerċem. The woman was brought to Mater Dei Hospital using the hospital helicopter. A third male passenger was also in the car.

In the second vehicle which was involved in the collision was a 36-year-old woman from Nadur. In the car there were also a 45-year-old woman from Canada and three boys aged 9, 11 and 14.

All those involved in the accident were taken to Gozo General Hospital.

Magistrate Brigitte Sultana was appointed to the inquiry.

The police are investigating.
