Occupy Justice activists gathered in front of Castille with signs demanding to know who the secret company Macbridge belongs to.
In a statement, the activists said that this action was to remind people that it has been 14 months since journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia’s assassination. They said the action was “in clear reference to the mystery client company which is feeding €5,000-a-day into the secret Panama companies of Minister Konrad Mizzi and the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Keith Schembri.”
The activists said that they asked the Prime Minister about 17 Black’s owner seven months ago, and they were ignored. They said that now it has been unveiled that people close to the Prime Minister have established a money laundering structure to receive kickbacks from the new Power Station project.
According to the activists, Muscat definitely knows who owns Macbridge and it is in his interest not to take action. This is Mafia-style corruption, they added.
Reuters journalist Stephen Grey said that he is still investigating Macbridge. According to an email sent by Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi’s accountants, their Panama companies had to receive money from Macbridge, as well as 17 Black.
