White swan at San Anton Gardens passes away

One of the San Anton Gardens swans which was in a bad shape a few weeks ago but seemed to have been making progress, has passed away.

On Facebook, animal activist Alison Bezzina said that she was informed by the Environmental Landscapes Consortium (ELC) that one of the white swans at San Anton Gardens (the one that had undergone treatment for bumble foot last month), had passed away.

“She seemed to have recovered fully as can be seen from this video (see below) taken only a couple of days ago, but for some reason she was found dead this morning. The swan is being kept in cold storage until an autopsy can be performed. We have no suspicions that any foul play or negligence took place, and ELC’s proactive move to store the swan for further investigation clearly shows collaboration. Any information is welcome but please avoid speculation,” Bezzina said.

Sad day indeed

I have just been informed by ELC that one of the white swans at San Anton Gardens (the one that had undergone treatment for bumble foot last month), has sadly passed away. She seemed to have recovered fully as can be seen from this video taken only a couple of days ago, but for some reason she was found dead this morning. The swan is being kept in cold storage until an autopsy can be performed. We have no suspicions that any foul play or negligence took place, and ELC's proactive move to store the swan for further investigation clearly shows collaboration. Any information is welcome but please avoid speculation. Thank you
