Archbishop Charles J Scicluna said that all those who follow mass on social media, due to the situation posed by the coronavirus pandemic, should still feel their union with the Catholic Church. At the same time he appealed to those who can attend mass in Church to do so as it is importants for chirstian to gather inside God’s temple to pray.
Archbishop Scicluna said this during his homily on Sunday as he was celebrating Mass on the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, at the chapel of Our Lady of Providence in Siġġiewi.
During his homily, the Archbishop explained that Jesus always reminds us that unity always brings great strength.
He mentioned the original painting of Our Lady of Divine Providence at the Siġġiewi Parish Church and said that what that painting symbolizes is reflected in the work carried out by the Dar tal-Providenza.
Dar tal-Providenza only exists thanks to the care and generosity of the people, said the Archbishop.
Referring to the gospel read on Sunday, Scicluna explained that when someone warns someone on any matter, it is always a sign of love because it means that we care of one another and if the person ignores your advice or warning then we should respect that person’s decision. However, this would not mean giving up on that person who will possibly need our help more than before.
“In our duty to give advice to others and to guide them we should be humble, patient and love should be the force to guide us. At the end everyone should shoulder the responsibly of their actions, said Archbishop Scicluna.
