“We’ll meet in court,” Opposition MP Jason Azzopardi said to those who have threatened or insulted him outside Partit Nazzjonalista headquarters early morning on Friday after the executive committee meeting was over.

Azzopardi shared footage which was published by Partit Laburista’s media, One News titled “Nationalist activists assault Jason Azzopardi”. The footage from Thursday night shows the police holding a party supporter who challenged Azzopardi on his way out of the PN headquarters after the executive committee meeting finished.

Writing on Facebook, Azzopardi said that he pitied for those party supporters who have been fed “words of hatred” by the party’s leadership that turned against its own elected MPs. He remarked that until some days ago, the PN media was used to attack those MPs which have voted against embattled Partit Nazzjonalista Adrian Delia.

PN’s General Council will vote on 1 August on whether the party members should be invited to confirm embattled Adrian Delia as party leader or hold a leadership election.

After the executive meeting, Adrian Delia told reporters that he would contest another leadership race.
