Watch: ‘We need to be excessively responsible as pandemic could be worse in winter’ – Fearne

We have entered in Winter months, which are the most difficult months, in view of the coronavirus pandemic we, therefore, need to be excessively responsible as the pandemic could be worse, said Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne on Wednesday.

As he was replying to a series of questions by journalists, Minister Fearne said that as from next week the rapid testing hub in the north of Malta will start to operate. Fearne said that for this hub the government is co-operating with the private sector and the adjudicator will probably be announced today.

Also, as from Monday a rapid testing hup will open at the Malta International Airport.

The Health Minister also said that in the coming days, together with Prime Minister Robert Abela, he wil be visiting the Good Samaritan Hospital in St. Paul’s Bay which is currently offering care and assistance to 23 COVID-19 patients.

As for the influenza vaccine, Minister Chris Fearne confirmed that the plan is to administer the next batch of vaccines as from mid-November.
