Watch: We must appreciate more the disciplined forces – Minister Camilleri

“This year’s circumstances, in the midst of a pandemic, may have made us appreciate more our work and do our best to safeguard it” said the Minister of the Interior, National Security and Law Enforcement Byron Camilleri after a series of visits to officers on duty on Christmas Day.

Minister Camilleri visited the Armed Forces operations centre in Luqa, the Paola Police station, Corradino Correctional Facilities, and the Civil Protection Fire Station in Corradino.

Minister Camilleri mentioned how within the Ministry there are others apart from those visited today, “thousands of other workers in different sectors, including those of the detention services and AWAS, who also do not have holidays.”

The Minister showed his gratitude on behalf of the people of Malta and Gozo for the essential service given to the community.

Special road-checks

During the morning drivers were stopped for special road-checks. The Malta Police Force stopped drivers at different localities giving them Christmas greetings, while distributing a small token reminding not to drink or use mobiles while driving.
