In this episode of Newsbook.com.mt‘s online cultural programme ‘Take a Bow‘, Coryse Borg speaks to Malta International Arts Festival Artistic Director Ruben Zahra about the decision to move this year’s festival online, at least for the major part of it.
“It’s important that when we have social challenges, artistes and artistic institutions remain relevant. Art takes up any challenge and makes creativity out of that context,” Zahra says.
The new MIAF programme, in collaboration with Spazju Kreattiv, Teatru Malta, Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and the Malta Society of Arts, which fits the new social distancing measures, will include 12 video performances from some of the best artists in Malta, which include three artist collectives and the Festivals Malta Hybrid Festival which will tour various localities around Malta.
Five professionally filmed videos of select performances from last year’s MIAF will be also available for viewing.
The MIAF is organised by Festivals Malta.
