The Aġenzija Żgħażagħ Gozo Regional Service has embarked on an initiative called ‘Youth of Gozo’ with the aim of empowering young people to develop their talent by using their time at home to practise their skills, give them an opportunity to share their talents with the online community, while at the same time leading by example and encouraging others to stay at safe.
One post a day on the Aġenzija Żgħażagħ Gozo Youth Service Facebook Page is dedicated to this initiative. This post shows a video or pictures of the young persons practising their talents or displaying their work. Different skills are shown, such as singing, playing a music instrument, artistic work, scientific experiments, music production, cooking, sports and creative writing.
This serves as a platform that promotes local talent and allows young people to express their talents, both as a showcase for established young artists as well as putting the spotlight on young people who have never displayed their work publicly. The project also presents young Gozitan professionals.
Ever wondered how the mesmerizing marbling effect is done on festa decorations? The video above shows Andrew Portelli working on a piece to be displayed when the festa season is back.
The Aġenzija Żgħażagħ Gozo Regional Service would like to know how young Gozitans are spending their time during Covid-19.You can send them a message via their Facebook page for more information on how to participate in the ‘Youth of Gozo’ project.
