Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

On the occasion of World Animal Day, which will be celebrated on Sunday 4th October, the Ministry for Gozo, through the Animal Welfare section within the EcoGozo Directorate, has launched a scheme to encourage families to adopt and care for animals in the Animal Welfare section of Gozo.

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri said, “through this scheme which will be open throughout October, we will give families who adopt a pet from Animal Welfare Gozo four free visits to the veterinarian of the Ministry for Gozo within the Animal Welfare section. During the third visit a €50 voucher to use for food, medicines or other needs for the adopted pet will also be given”.

Camilleri emphasised that the adoption of a pet is a lifelong commitment and every animal adopted should be considered a member of the family.

The Director of EcoGozo stated that when you choose to adopt a pet you are giving a new home and a new beginning to an animal in need.

This scheme is valid throughout the month of October. Other terms and conditions apply. For more information, please contact the Animal Welfare Centre.
