Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

San Ġorġ Preca used to remind people that they are St Paul’s children, Archbishop Charles Scicluna said during the homily celebrated on Saturday.

The feast of San Ġorġ Preca was marked by a liturgical celebration at the Chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Blata l-Bajda.

Mgr Scicluna reminded the faithful that today is a special day for the congregation that is remembering the beatification of the first Maltese saint. On the day, Nazju Falzon and Adeodata Pisani were also beatified.

The Archbishop said that this day one should not only remember San Ġorġ Preca but one should remember his work and teachings. He added that when San Ġorġ Preca was still alive many would flock to mass when he was celebrating it, or seek his advice.

Mgr Scicluna reminded the faithful that San Ġorġ Preca had highlighted the importance of forgiveness. He added that the Maltese saint had taught the faithful on how to pray after receiving Holy Communion.

The Archbishop prayed to San Ġorġ Preca for the coronavirus pandemic to be over as soon as possible and for the reopening of the Churches.
