Watch: Priest running for his life as Beirut explosion shakes church

A video which is being shared on social media shows a Lebanese priest running for his life as he was delivering a mass at the time of the huge explosion which struck the capital of Lebanon, Beirut, on Tuesday evening.

The mass which was being celebrated at a church in Beirut was being streamed live online.

The video shows the debris falling on the priest and parishioners who attended the mass and how the explosion shook the church.

International media are reporting that around 100 people have been killed in the explosion and more than 4,000 were injured as a result of the explosion.

Over 200,000 persons were left without homes following the deadly explosion which struck Lebanon on Tuesday.

Footage showed that a raging fire had broken out at the city’s central port was followed by a far more massive explosion that is reported to have wrecked many buildings and shattered windows even 10km away from the blast site. The blast was even felt in Cyprus, which lies over 200km away.
