President of Malta George Vella, together with his wife Miriam Vella, recently had the opportunity to appreciate the artistic treasures of the National Museum of Art (MUŻA), located in Auberge d’Italie, Valletta.
The President described this project as a prestigious one that resulted in a museum of calibre that reflects the artistic riches and the invaluable cultural heritage of our country
During this visit, the President and his wife followed the four narratives of MUŻA, which are The Mediterranean, Europe, The Empire, and the Artist. The museum contains about 20,000 works of art, among which those by painter Mattia Preti and sculptor Antonio Sciortino.
Heritage Malta Chief Executive Noel Zammit said it was an honour to host the President and his wife. In the meantime, Kenneth Cassar, Heritage Malta senior curator, described this occasion as a unique one.
