Partit Laburista leadership hopeful Chris Fearne described himself as a person who takes no nonsense and who does not beat around the bush, during an interview on Newsbook.com.mt.

The Deputy Prime Minister was asked whether his style of leadership broke off with that of his predecessor in the sense that he is seen alone and not accompanied by his family on the campaign trail.

No, she isn’t the kind of wife to follow me everywhere, acting like she has nothing better to do than to sit in my shadow.

Fearne replied that his three children are all adults and have their own career or are still studying. Speaking about his wife, Fearne said that his wife was a professional doctor with her own career.

Speaking about his wife, Fearne said: “she isn’t the kind of wife to follow me everywhere, acting like she has nothing better to do than to sit in my shadow,” underlining that they both support each other in their career decisions. He added that she would join him at the political activity that was scheduled for the day when the interview was held.

Asked about how he would like to be remembered, Fearne said that while his training as a surgeon comes through as he is a strict and clinical person, away from public eye he is a jolly person who enjoys cooking, eating and his glass of good wine.
