Many have taken to their balconies clapping for healthcare workers.
Various people around the island responded to call to go to their balconies and give a big round of applause to the healthcare workers. Readers have sent us videos from different localities.
In a note which was circulated earlier, it urged the public to “ensure that this applause is loud and clear as a sign of appreciation for the valuable work they do with such courage and dedication”.
On Tuesday the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Malta stood at 38, the majority of which had been “imported” while the first cases which resulted from local spread were registered on Monday.
Earlier rule of law NGO Repubblika affixed a banner thanking all those working in the healthcare sector.
