Watch: WSC Pembroke-Ta’ Qali tunnel to be completed by 2021

According to the Water Services Corporation, a tunnel which will begin from the Reverse Osmosis plant in Pembroke and end in Ta’ Qali will be built in the coming months.

The tunnel, which will be 9.5km long and 3m wide will cost around €27.5 million and will be ready by 2021.

Bonnici Bros. Services were awarded the contract whilst Superlit Boru Sanayi A.S will be the main providers of pipes for the project.

This tunnel will ensure an increase in the quality of water in many different Maltese localities and will increase environmental sustainability.
