Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
Leader of Partit Nazzjonalista Adrian Delia said that one of the biggest problems of poverty today, not only in our country but around the world, is the poverty of loneliness.
This was said during the ongoing series “Milied Flimkien” (Christmas Together).
According to Delia, one of the biggest problems of poverty is not only financial, but the poverty of loneliness. Those who are alone feel even more solitude when they watch everyone celebrating and going to parties. “Therefore, it is our duty as humans to share these moments with them.”
The Opposition Leader mentioned that the true message of Christmas is being forgotten in today’s consumeristic world, and is instead focused on gifts.
He stated that during the Christmas season, people should find that which connects them, and not what divides them.
Delia insisted that Christmas is also hope, hope for those who are in difficult situations. He added that in Malta there are many experiencing different kinds of problems. “The government and state have their obligations to try to think in a system that caters as much as possible for everyone. However, there is also the voluntary sector, there is the generosity of the Maltese and Gozitan citizens that whenever there is need, it always gives what is necessary.”
