Project Harmony’s second music video has just been launched – ‘Rock Bottom’ which is originally sung by Hailee Steinfeld. This acapella cover song was recorded in a home studio.
Project Harmony is the new and trendy acapella group in Malta, striking a unique chord with the acapella world. Six very different personalities have come together to create innovative and fun sounds – Maria Grech, Faye Mallia, Julia Camilleri, Mario Vella, Paolo Micallef and Neil Azzopardi.
The group have been working extra hard to bring some joy and life back into the world. With their incredible vocals and passion for acting, every shot brings the fun summer vibe back with bright colours, and even brighter smiles in their upbeat new *music video.
Forty-eight hours of shooting in the summer sun with no sleep, really paid off!” Project Harmony founder Faye Micallef-Grimaud told Newsbook.com.mt, “Unfortunately, this style of music does not garner much popularity, due perhaps to the fact that many are unfamiliar with what acapella really is… and that it requires numerous rehearsals to polish one number.”
Faye explained that acapella is basically individuals singing a song with no instrumental accompaniment. “Some sing lyrics while others, the instrument score, that is, the guitar line, bass, piano and of course drums or ‘beatboxing’, which I can assure you is one of the hardest skills in performing acapella and not so easy to find”
The audio and visual production of the ‘Rock Bottom’ video was in the hands of Dylan Odom. Vocal arrangements and overall production were by Faye Micallef-Grimaud. The shoot was sponsored by The Shells Mellieha and Benna.
*Disclaimer: The ‘Rock Bottom’ music video was shot before the large COVID outbreak in Malta, and recommended safety measures were taken.
