Watch: Muscat does not have political will to fix system – Farrugia

Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

Partit Demokratiku (PD) MP and former leader Godfrey Farrugia said that if the Prime Minister Joseph Muscat wants to unite the country, this has to be done through a democratic process that allows for good governance and the rule of law.

Farrugia said that it is very clear that the Prime Minister does not have the political will to fix the system and guarantee authority’s independence and accountability.

In a press release from the PD, the former leader said that it is clear that the monopoly of the two major political parties in the Constitution Reform Committee is proving to be ineffective as well as connected with the Executive’s agenda, as had been proven in the half-baked measures that have been presented in Parliament over the past week.

PD’s Public Relations Officer Marcus Lauri said that the Constitution is the Maltese and Gozitans’ social contract and would be more better off with less political influence.
