Samir Almiri, suspect in the murder of 62-year-old Victor McKeon was extradited to Malta from Casablanca late on Tuesday, the police said.
The case goes back to 17 March when the body of McKeon was found in an advanced stage of decomposition at his apartment in Santa Luċija. The autopsy results revealed blows to the head and suffocation as causes for the decease.
McKeon’s body was found wrapped in taped black bags in the bathroom
Almiri, was arrested 6 days later in Morroco following an international arrest warrant issued through Malta’s Interpol office. The Libyan national used to share apartment with the victim.
The suspect in the murder of Victor McKeon has been flown back to Malta from Casablanca. The Police said upon the arrival of the Libyan national Samir Almiri, 38-year-old.
Police officers from the Major Crime Unit and Special Intervention unit escorted the suspect from Casablanca. He’s being kept at the Police HQ lock-up where he’s assisting in the investigations.
