The second edition of the Gozo Film Festival will be taking place this weekend between the 24th and 26th of August around the Citadel.
Minister for Gozo, Justyne Caruana launched the second edition of the film festival with the support of the Director of Tourism and Economic Development.
Caruana hopes that organising such an event will benefit the island of Gozo with an increase in economic activity and work opportunities in the film industry by attracting film enthusiasts and working alongside the Malta Film Commission.
Federico Chini, responsible for the preparations of the festival as a whole explained that films of all genres will be shown mainly at St John’s Bastion in the Gozo Citadel, projected onto a sheet outdoors. There will also be opportunities for children to learn about film and television production.
Around 41 short films will be screened during this free film festival, including 9 Maltese and Gozitan productions, and films linked to the Maltese islands shown every evening, closing off with a family film on Sunday evening, Treasure in Malta.
