The short film ‘Night-time at the Station’ by local film company Take Two is to feature in the next edition of the Zebra Poetry Film Festival to be held between the 19th and 22nd November 2020 at the Kino in der KulturBrauerei in Berlin.
Night-time at the Station is a poetry film inspired by the work of one of Malta’s leading poets, Oliver Friggieri. In his poem ‘Il-Lejl f’Dan l-Istazzjon‘ he depicts a voyager arriving late at the station and watching the last train fade into blackness. Director Abigail Mallia uses this narrative to build on a metaphoric level and explore the themes of childhood, nostalgia, and meaning.
The cast of this 20-minute film is made up of Ileana Cutajar, Mikhail Basmadjan, Matthew Sant Sultana, Matteo Calleja Tonna, Rene Barun, Victoria Pisani, Joanne Busuttil and Claire Marie Busuttil. The scriptwriter is Carlos Debattista.
The film is supported by Inizjamed.
