The Augustinian Sisters Servants of Jesus and Mary are celebrating the 193rd anniversary of the foundation of their congregation today.
The goal of foundation is to give a holistic formation to children and youth through education, accompaniment and spirituality.
The Sisters of St Monica are fully dedicated to their mission: serving the Church through evangelisation of children and youth.
Their Mother Foundress is Maria Teresa Spinelli who as a young lady, realised that in Frosinone, Italy, there was no education for girls and she was the first to start this venture by gathering two prostitutes from the street. She later felt a great desire to dedicate herself totally to God in this mission and so became a Sister with some of her friends who were teaching with her at that time.
