Watch: “It’s so much fun playing a repressed Victorian governess!”

For this week’s episode of‘s online cultural programme ‘Take a Bow‘, Coryse Borg speaks to the multi-talented Isabel Warrington who is playing the part of Miss Prism in the MADC production of Oscar Wilde’s perpetual favourite The Importance of Being Earnest.

With an ensemble consisting of Davide Tucci, Edward Caruana Galizia, Maxine Aquilina, Michela Farrugia, Marylu Coppini, Michael Mangion, Martin Azzopardi and Edward Thorpe, as well as Warrington of course, and under the direction of comedy stalwart Malcolm Galea, The Importance of Being Earnest promises to be one of the highlights of the 2019-2020 theatrical season.

The Importance of Being Earnest had already been produced to great acclaim by the MADC in 1988. The club, together with Teatru Manoel, agreed that the time was ripe to revisit this timeless comedic love story that sees protagonists Algernon and Jack woo their respective girlfriends Cecily and Gwendolen under the formidable eye of Algernon’s aunt, Lady Bracknell. 

The play will be performed at Teatru Manoel on the 31st January, and 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th, and 9th February 2020. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8.00 pm and Sunday performances at 7.00 pm. Bookings may be made on tel. no: 2124 6389 or via the Teatru Manoel website. Classification 12+
