Parents and children lined the streets of Ħamrun earlier today holding out placards filled with words of love and gratitude for their educators while the teaching staff of the school passed by in a very special carcade to celebrate what has been a very unique scholastic year indeed.

“It was so emotional; parents crying, students crying – we were all crying!”

The carcade of decorated cars, with educators in them and decorated to be seen left the school car park and proceeded down the main road of Ħamrun.

San Gorg Preca College, Ħamrun SS Primary School Head of School Johanna Cauchi told Newsbook.com.mt that the staff thought this would be the best way to end on a positive note

“Our students have missed us and we have also missed them during the COVID school lockdown period. So we said they were to await a surprise and all they had to do was go out of their house, carrying posters which we had told them to prepare for the last day of school, and wait for the honking of horns,” she explained,”It was so emotional; parents crying, students crying – we were all crying! Everyone deserves a big well done for the success of online learning… students, parents and educators.”
