Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
Gozitan rock band Upper Lip have just released their first single and music video ‘Keep Going’ from their debut album, ‘Deep Within.’ The song and its catchy chorus ‘Let’s keep going on’, speaks about perseverance and pushing to achieve your own dreams.
Upper Lip is currently the only active Hard Rock band in Gozo.
Their first studio album was recorded at Temple Studios in Mistra with producer David Vella and features 11 tracks of pure Rock n’ Roll catchy grooves. The album is set to be released in the next months.
Currently the band’s line up is composed of Chris Portelli (lead vocals), Joseph Azzopardi (lead guitarist and songwriter), Marcel Paul Grima (bass guitar), Paul Cini (rhythm guitar) and Silvio Cini (drums). Previous members include drummer Shaun Axiaq and drummer Paul Formosa from the local band Ascendor.
Upper Lip made its debut performance in November 2013. Their gig was swiftly followed by a stream of invitations to headline at various venues around the island, such as The Garage in Malta, and national events including NYE in the City, Rock the Rock and wine festivals, as well as the Nadur Carnival. The group’s original music and performances are influenced by the greats from the golden years of rock: AC/DC, The Rolling Stones and Queen, among others.
The band’s next concert will be held at the Nadur Carnival on Saturday 22nd February at Pjazzetta Stage behind the church.
