Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
Video footage shows the moment when 71 asylum seekers, which had been drifting in the Maltese SAR were rescued by the Armed Forces of Malta on Sunday afternoon and disembarked in Senglea.
The footage shows personnel wearing white hazard suits, masks and gloves as health checks were being carried out to confirm if any of the migrants test positive to coronavirus or not or if they have the symptoms.
Amongst the group of migrants there were also women and children who needed immediate care.
The migrants’ situation was being monitored by the NGO, Alarm Phone, which operates a hotline for those making the dangerous crossing across the Mediterranean in a bid to reach safety in Europe.
