Sci-fi writer Jon Courtenay Grimwood was born in Valletta and spent the first seven years of his life in Malta. Now residing in the UK, he also writes under two other pseudonyms Jonathan Grimwood (literary fiction) and Jack Grimwood (crime fiction and thrillers).
He told Newsbook.com.mt that even after all these years absent from these shores, he still recognised the capital city.
“The stuff that sticks, is the stuff when you’re really small,” he said, “I have a thing for walled cities, I have a thing for narrow streets. I have a thing for high walls and looking up and seeing this thin strip of sky.”
Grimwood is one of the guests at the Malta Book Festival 2019 which is being held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta until Sunday 10th November.
