The organiser of the Malta Robotics Olympiad (MRO19) told Newsbook.com.mt that the Digital Careers Expo is an effort to link education with recruitment and ‘digital is in everything.’
James Catania explained that this year’s inclusion of the Digital Careers Expo helps parents and students to connect with a whole host of digital recruitment agencies like Catena Media, Castille and Broadwing, towards employment and careers in the digital world.
When asked about the kinds of job prospects there are in digital, Catania added that it was not possible to quantify the kinds of jobs that are available in Digital, stating instead that ‘Digital is in everything.’
‘At MRO, we stress four aspects; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics… So anything from Science to AI to blockchain, to game design and development and everything in between.’
This was one of two new expos which the MRO has launched during this year’s three-day event at the MFCC in Ta ‘Qali.
Along with employment opportunities, the event is also giving visitors a glimpse at the kinds of consumer gadgets and electronics entering the market.
Catania explained that these gadgets, ‘are all the things that you can imagine.’
From, ‘electric cars and electric scooters, to washing machines, the latest audio and video technology, LED screens… literally everything.’
