Both Archbishop Charles Scicluna and Gozo’s Bishop Mario Grech spoke of their plans of this year’s Christmas as well about the importance of finding some time to spend some time with their families.
The Archbishop will be meeting practitioners and hearing their confessions on Christmas eve before heading to Mdina. Prayers will kick off at 11 pm at the Cathedral in Mdina ahead of the traditional Christmas midnight mass.
On Christmas Day the Archbishop will celebrate mass at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta before going to the Curia in Floriana to visit and greet all those who will attend the Christmas lunch as well as the organizers behind the initiative which includes also Caritas. He will then spend his evening with his family.
Gozo’s Bishop Mario Grech spoke of what usually happens during the Christmas period, mentioning the Jesuits’ meal and another meal organised for thirty people who find themselves lonely during the festive season at Ta’ Pinu Church. He will also visit those who are not feeling well.
Mgr Grech spoke of the need to find time for himself and enjoy a walk and about spending time with his family.
