Bishop of Gozo Dun Anton Teuma turned 57 on Monday.
This is the first time he is celebrating his birthday as the head of the diocese of Gozo after he was installed bishop in June.
Newsbook.com.mt has met with his siblings – Joe and Carmen who would not be meeting their brother on his birthday due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Bishop Teuma is the eldest of four siblings, with Joe and Carmen being two and seven years younger than him respectively.
Speaking to this newsroom, Joe said he was elated when he heard about his brother’s appointment, however, he was also concerned. He recalled the time when Bishop Teuma and himself would go to help their father in the fields.
His sister, Carmen, reminisced the time when Bishop Teuma would help around in the house.
Mgr Teuma is a great fan of the Italian giants Juventus. He is also enjoys carrying out manual work.
In his pastoral letter, Cardinal Mario Grech described Bishop Teuma as having a big heart full of love.
Bishop Teuma hails from Xagħra and is the ninth bishop of Gozo.
