Auxiliary Bishop Mgr Joseph Galea Curmi joined in squeezing fresh orange juice in the Orange Campaign organised by GħST, Għaqda Studenti tat-Teoloġija on Campus on Tuesday. The philanthropic event was in aid of Caritas Malta saw students and others coming together squeezing fresh orange juice against a donation.
Mgr Galea Curmi praised the students for their initiative that raised awareness among fellow students about the valuable work done by Caritas. He said that in such acts, the students’ Catholic faith was reflected. Anthony Gatt, the director of Caritas Malta said that it was good that one recognized that such work was done without expecting payment.
GħST is currently selling a variety of food and fresh orange juice as part of their Orange Campaign. The donations collected will be then presented to Caritas Malta.
President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca also visited GħST’s stand on campus. She thanked the students for taking the initiative of organizing this campaign year after year during the Christmas period.
