Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
Due to the current coronavirus situation, the TemptAsian restaurant at the AX The Palace hotel in Sliema had to sadly close their doors, just like all the restaurants in Malta.
However, there is great news for lovers of their delicious fare – TemptAsian is coming home.
Whether you are celebrating a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary, or you just feel like having some quality food in the comfort and safety of your own home, this will certainly brighten up your self-isolation days.
In my case, it was simply a question of needing a break from thinking what to cook – being inside so much has awakened the latent ‘domestic goddess’ in me – in the past few weeks, I have baked bread from scratch and made quiche for the first time ever, among other foodie fare.
My son Andrea and I opted for one of two set menus which included a TemptAsian platter (with goodies such as a duck parcel, chicken skewers, marinated seaweed salad and Chao Chao sticky spare ribs, among many other delicacies), a half Peking duck with pancakes, vegetable Phad Thai noodles, fried rice, Mo Gu Ji (stir-fried chicken with a variety of mushrooms) lamb in yellow Thai curry and sizzled shellfish. For drinks, you can choose between a bottle of wine or two soft drinks.
Andrea’s favourite dish was definitely the duck with pancakes, while mine was tied between the spare ribs (which just slid off the bone; they were that tender), the seaweed salad and the stir-fried chicken.
The portions were really generous – in fact, we had enough leftover for lunch the next day, which was a great added bonus.
Delivery and take-away orders can be placed by phone on tel. no: 21333444 or WhatsApp 79041140 from 9.00 am to 9.30 pm on Wednesday to Saturday (from Sunday to Tuesday, they are closed).
If you are paying by cash, an exact payment is required. All major credit cards are accepted.
Food orders are to be collected from the main hotel entrance of AX The Palace, High Street, Sliema (the food will be brought to your car, so you do not need to park). Food can also be picked up between 6.00 and 10.00 pm.
For delivery, you will receive a text with the approximate pick-up time or delivery time. When the driver is in front of the door you will receive another call. Food will be left in front of the main door and the driver will wait in the car until you pick up the food.
More details, including delivery areas and both the menus, may be found on the website.
