For the past three years, youth group The Treble Makers have annually visited young patients at Mater Dei and retirement homes during the Christmas period, spreading some Christmas cheer by singing a few carols and giving out Christmas presents bought with funds that were collected during their annual Christmas bake sales.
This year, they have decided to help the less fortunate again, but this time, help those
children and families that live in alternative care residential homes.
The foundation The Treble Makers chose to help out this year is Fondazzjoni Sebh. The reason behind this decision is because the foundation is currently undergoing home renovations and are now in need of certain accessories and necessities that will help make the children feel more at home.
“Our goal is to collect as many funds as possible, in order to acquire as many necessity
items as are needed in order to complete their children’s homes. Besides these home
necessities, with any extra funds we receive, we are also planning to buy Christmas
presents for the children that live in these care homes,” a spokesperson for the Treble Makers said.
The foundation relies heavily on donations and volunteers, and work very hard in order to help these children/families overcome their misfortune and instabilities by offering stability in an alternative residence outside their own homes.
