Watch: 44 migrants transferred to AFM patrol vessel

Forty-four immigrants have been transferred to Malta by way of the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM).

An AFM spokesperson confirmed to Newsbook.com.mt that the group which includes women and children, were transferred at around 10AM this morning from the Open Arms migrant rescue vessel.

Those rescued had come from a boat that had sank near Lampedusa, claiming the lives of 13 women and 4 children.

Meanwhile, MSF has been instructed by the Italian authorities to continue their search to find more bodies of the shipwreck.
