The vouchers distributed to every Maltese resident to boost spending in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic have had their validity extended to the end of October, Prime Minister Robert Abela has announced.

Abela also confirmed that another economic measure linked to Covid-19 – the wage supplement – has also been extended until the end of October.

The Prime Minister was speaking during a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce, in which the media was invited to follow introductory remarks.

Speaking on Newsbook Hour on 103 Malta’s Heart last Saturday, Medical Association of Malta president Martin Balzan had called for the government to extend the validity of the vouchers, to avoid people crowding to make use of them before their September deadline.
