Visiting hours in a number of hospitals around Malta and Gozo will be restricted to just one hour on Thursday.
In a press release, the Electoral Commission is advising the public that Thursday the 23rd of May will be the day in which patients around a number of hospitals will be able to cast their votes for the European Parliament (EP) and Local Councils election.
The hospitals that will only allow visitors in between 7pm and 8pm on the day are: Mater Dei Hospital, Karin Grech Hospital, Mount Carmel Hospital, and the Gozo General Hospital.
The press release also explained that there might be exceptions when visitors want to see patients who are in a serious condition, however, one would need to obtain a permit from the Electoral Commission who will be consulting with the authorities of the hospital in question.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission is advising all those who have as yet not collected their voting documents that they may pick up their documents from the Electoral Office in the Counting Centre in Naxxar or from the iD Malta offices at 28A St Francis Square Victoria, Gozo.
The days and time where these two offices will be open are:
- Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd of May 2019 between 8am and 10pm;
- Thursday 23rd May 2019 between 8am and midnight.
Only identity cards or residency permits will be allowed to be presented as proof of identification.
