The recent news announcing that Villa Gwardamanġa has been bought by Government and will not be demolished will continue to improve Pietà’s profile. This was said by Pietà’s PN Councillors Mark Pisani and Josef Fitzpatrick.

The two Councillors expressed their satisfaction in Government’s decision to buy the property, which served as the official residence of the UK’s Queen Elizabeth II and Duke Phillip while they were living in Malta.

The locality of Pietà is believed to be the only place Queen Elizabeth resided in which is not in the United Kingdom.

Pisani and Fitzpatrick reminded the public that earlier this year, the same locality’s PN Councillors raised this discussion in the previous Council, encouraging Government to take action on the historically important Villa.
