UK inquiry into Ramla Bay death ajourned

A British inquiry into the death of a British man at Ramla Bay last month has been adjourned.

According to a report on the website of the UK Daily Echo newspaper, an autopsy carried out by an unnamed British pathologist, showed that Andrew Jasminder Heer, died after drowning.

Acting coroner Samantha Marsh said that the UK inquiry would be adjourned until March 2020. Malta had also opened an inquiry led by Magistrate Bridgette Sultana.

According to the Maltese police, two British men aged 50 and 51, were swimming when they got into difficulty. Both men were brought to shore by members of the ERRC. The 50 year old received CPR at the scene but could not be revived. He was later certified dead at the scene.

Two red flags were flying at the beach at the time of incident advising visitors not to swim.
