UĦM has issued a list of industrial actions directives for its members working at the three hospitals which were taken over by Steward Health Care following a concession deal initially to a company which had no experience in healthcare, VGH, and then was transferred to the American giant.
On Monday, the Union said that any individual who has any complaints to file over the industrial action directives should call the Office of the Prime Minister on 25000000.
In a statement, UĦM – Voice of the Workers said that the directives were issued following years of concern about the privatisation deal.
The Union highlighted that it never agreed to the contract. Further, the Union said that it has been asking the Government to take on the employees in order to ensure “equal pay for equal work”.
The directives will be followed by UĦM members whether they are employed with the government or with Steward Health Care, as a sign of solidarity.
The Union called on the government to cancel the contract with the American giant with immediate effect.
