Two women have succumbed to coronavirus the health authorities reported on Saturday evening bringing the death toll up to 97.
In a statement, the health authorities explained that a 79-year-old woman who tested positive on 7 November died earlier on Saturday at Casa Pinto Ħal Qormi.
The second case concerned an 88-year-old woman who tested positive on 8 November died earlier during the day at Mater Dei Hospital
Malta has 2,120 active cases after 121 new infections were detected in the last 24 hours.
While offering its condolences to the families of the victim, the health authorities reminded everyone to adhere to the guidelines in place aimed at curbing the spread of the virus.
