After six summers in a row, The Triq Cinemoon Film Festival has not been granted a permit for it to take place in its usual venue of the steps in St. John’s Street in Valletta.
This means that the event that was going to take place on 23rd August has had to be cancelled.
According to Facebook post by the organisers, the Valletta Local Council did not issue a permit because of complaints by residents.
The festival organisers said they are very disappointed as it seems that people prefer the babel of loud music coming out of entertainment establishments and the daily traffic, to a group of adults watching a film in the moonlight.
The organisers are currently looking for alternative venues for their last two events due to take place on the 30th August and 6th September.
