During this year’s annual concert by the King George V Band of Mqabba, various genres of music will be performed, ranging from waltz to opera, Maltese music and modern music, as well as a tribute to DJ Avicii.
The band, under the direction of band master Mr David Agius, will be accompanied by musicians including Mike Spiteri, Roberta Malli and Aldo Busuttil, as well as the Paul Curmi Dancers and the Santa Marija Mqabba Accordion Band.
The concert will be held at the Mqabba Church Square on Friday 10th August at 9.00 pm and will be under the patronage of Mr Albert Marshall, Executive Chairman of the Malta Arts Council. Entrance is free of charge.
During the concert the Marija Assunta Artistic Hall will be inaugurated, after it went through an intensive restoration process during the last months, as well as another piece-of-art to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Santa Marija Youth Section.
