Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg has today inaugurated investment in an open spaces project in Ħad-Dingli.
The €165,000 investment in the Misraħ il-Mafkar project, will see the rehabilitation and creation of a garden for the community.
The project included the planting of indigenous trees and plants, the installation of benches and gazebos and the restoration of the Ġużè Ellul Mercer monument, to name a few updates.
The Minister explained that the move showed the government was putting the people first and about not only roads but also about the infrastructure of open spaces.
Borg said, ‘Here we have carried out new rehabilitation towards a social space to relax in for families, children, the elderly, and youths, as we are doing in several other localities and communities. Because today we have a Government that, yes, considers various projects of every dimension, but with small or big measures we are not only changing the country’s aesthetic but also the standard of living of the people,’
Mayor Mr Sandro Azzopardi also addressed the audience about value of the project to the locality.
